About Subscriptions

You don’t need to subscribe to fiddle-online to use it, but there are benefits to having one of our two subscriptions. Let’s take a look at the benefits to you, as well as how to subscribe, and how to change or end your subscription, and what the impacts are of doing that.

Benefits of Subscribing

Everything on fiddle-online is a-la-carte, and you’re welcome to purchase credits as needed. The main benefit of having subscription is that you get bonus credits, which is equivalent to getting up to 20% off the cost of credits. It’s also convenient to have credits added to your account for you every month. You don’t need to subscribe to use the site, it’s just a convenience, and gives you the bonus credits to thank you for participating on a regular basis.

Two Kinds of Subscription

The most popular kind of subscription is the regular “Monthly With Bonus”, which costs $20 each month. The first month of your subscription, you get 20 credits, the normal cost of credits. The second month you get 22 credits, and from the third month on, you get 24 credits, even though you’re still being charged $20/month.

If you regularly make use of live workshops and like to use other materials during the month, or if you are a couple, you’ll appreciate the “Frequent Learner” subscription. This costs $40/month and after getting 40 credits into your account the first month, you get 45 the second month, and 50 each month after that.

How to Subscribe

Once you’ve logged in, click on  the “Credits” link in the top menu of any page. If you’re on your own home page, just click the “My Account/Credits” button at top right. In the illustration above, you can see the left side of the Credits page.

To get a “Monthly with Bonus” subscription, click the first navy blue button, and for the “Frequent Learner” subscription, click the second navy blue button, as in the detail shown below:

How to Cancel

See the illustration above — the arrows on the right point to the Cancel links. They’re just to the right of the navy-blue buttons. There’s one for each subscription type.

Note that if  you cancel, you will not lose the credits you’ve purchased and earned. They stay in your account as long as you want.

If you subscribe again later, you’ll start over as before and will gain bonuses starting with your second month of the subscription.

Why We Use Stripe

Stripe is super secure and convenient, and it won’t take you away from the page to another site. It just opens a small window for you to enter your card info.

We used to include subscription by PayPal but discovered that PayPal allows you to accidentally subscribe twice, and Stripe won’t allow this. Also, to cancel a PayPal subscription, you have to go into your PayPal account and figure out how to cancel it there. With Stripe, you can just use the link to the right of the subscription button, as explained above in the section about How to Cancel.

For PayPal Fans

If you like using PayPal, please note that there is an option to use PayPal to purchase credits. On the Credits page, right under the green “Purchase Credits” button, there’s a link for using PayPal instead.
